Receiving praise biologically affects a person, in a way that we activate a chemical reaction the hormones of happiness are responsible for. When we activate the hormones of happiness, we get a satisfied (happy) man who becomes more engaged and who wants more of that chemistry. Research (Gallup) shows that it would be optimal to praise an employee once a week.

Quick win ideas for an action plan:

When praising be specific, explain to the employee what exactly he was praised for and how it affected the company. The best time to praise is right after a task well done.

Strategic initiative ideas:

Organize official monthly or annual awards to employees for a job well done. You can choose the best ones for internal mentors or coaches.
